I was reading that updating the firmware could help, so I checked my firmware.
The version was a bit old (v3.2.7b0526T), so I updated it to a newer one (v4.3.3b1432).
The rattling of the HDD's continues, the system fan is now more active too.
So instead of less noise, there is more noise now.
I stopped all of my apps, no change (the ones I can stop).
I cannot stop QTS SSL-certificate, that's a bit strange.
Because I don't use an external login.
QNAP NAS is not going to standby mode at all

In my case the "evil" process that caused constant HDD writes was the "rsyslogd" which is the syslog server which is activated per defaut on a new system.
