Dear friends,
TS-219P with 4.3.3 attached to a gigabit switch to which a gigabit connection goes to my iMac.
On both Mac and 219P the network interfaces do not show errors and show a gigabit connection.
RAID status is good, no other disk errors in the logs.
The QNAP serves as a TimeMachine server for my Mac but even between the TM activity I see the disk working a lot with the two corresponding green LEDs flickering.
How can I understand what is causing this and if it's normal?
Thank you very much
What is keeping my QNAP disks always working

Is RAID scrubbing active? How can I understand what is causing this and if it's normal?
Check the Resource Monitor to see how active the discs are, and look at the processes for candidates that may be accessing the discs.
TS-431+ for storage and media and a bunch of IP cams under Surveillance Station. TVS-473 as files backup and QVR Pro.

RAID scrubbing on two disks and CAT1 device wont be an option ..
It just one our hundreds of topics of disks that are kept active ...just let them spin

Ok thanks for the input.
So if I understand I shouldn't worry, even though I am sure this did not happen a few months back.
I know because unfortunately I sometimes sleep near the QNAP and this constant clicketyclack can be a pain in the .... ear
