expanding iSCSI volume
On my new QNAP i'm playing around to get used to it possibilities. For now i equipped it with only 1 400GB Harddisk to start with.
i created an iSCSI volume of 100GB on my TS509pro. It works fine, i can access it with Windows XP.
Now i like to expand the size of this volume with 50GB without losing or moving any data on it. I've still diskspace left.
I was wondering if this is possible with my current firmware (Current firmware version: 3.1.1 Build 0815T), because i can't find an option to do this. Or is this simply impossible on a QNAP device?
(at work we have a EMC SAN and we can extend LUN's very easily.)

Re: expanding iSCSI volume
I have a TS-809U-RP on Firmware version 3.2.2 Build 0128T. I created some LUN's. When I attempted to resize the LUN regardless if it was a thin provisioned LUN or instant allocation the slide bar for resizing the LUN is grayed out. If I understand this thread this feature is not supported so it has been disabled? Am I understanding what you are saying correct? This is a very important feature to my company also. Is there any ETA on ISCSI LUN expansion? Any talk of adding the ability to change a LUN from thin provisioned to instant allocation and the opposite? This is a handy feature to have for many reasons.

Yes, what is the ETA for this feature? Or is this feature still even being considered for future updates?

Any date known yet as to when the new version of firmware will be available ?
Re: expanding iSCSI volume
Hi,
The schedule of 3.4.0 will be a bit delayed, but we'll try to release it in two months.

TS809. If I had set the LUN Allocation to 'Instant Allocation', can I still be able to expand the volume size?
