I don't think there's a way as of right now, but I'll ask about it and see if there's a reason for this.
As a side note, KaJIoyan you clearly didn't read the box on the right hand side when you uploaded your file

Important Do not upload any TV shows, music videos, music concerts, or commercials without permission unless they consist entirely of content you created yourself.

QNAPLars,
Thanks for your reply. I just want to convert my video in my desktop computer to the suitable format before upload to the NAS. The videostation convert the video format is very very slow due to CPU power.

Dear All:
Please just click any button on the Video Station, and conversion will not show later.

The question is not whether it shows conversion on the Web GUI. The question is the process running in the background.QNAPOliver wrote:Dear All:

How can the user prevent it from running in the background and have it NOT convert the file when uploading?

The same question and also is or will it be possible to use uploaded media files without conversion, otherwise it will take in almost 2 times more space (for originals, say in folder /Multimedia/Video/Clips and for Video Station converted copy in folder Web/videostation/files/videos).

Did we ever get an answer to this?
I too would like to convert the files on my Quad core Desktop computer, not tie up the QNAP's CPU and wait 10x the amount of time for it to finish conversation.
