hubic cloud storage

Post by Mercuria »

pls add hubic cloud storage in the next fw, or as a seperate qpkg
https://hubic.com/en/

https://api.hubic.com/

hubic offers 25Gb for free, and is stationed in France,
so users are not subjected to the NSA

possibility of adoption of a requested feature?

Post by Mercuria »

I am asking myself what the possibility is of an adoption of a request,
i see hardly no result in next Fw / qt.

my request for instance, add hubic cloudstorage in next Fw / as a qpkg?
possible, and where do i get feedback of this request?

You can adopt it ASAP by creating the QPKG yourself. :P

For the Firmware, contact QNAP, see the "Contact Us" page on their Website.

As for a QPKG, that is simply a matter of finding a hubiC CloudStorage fan, who is a programmer, and who is capable of building a QPKG for you. Check out: QNAP Development Kit: Quick Start Guide v3 for information on this. (This document includes instructions for downloading the QNAP Development Kit).

You might even want to provide this information to hubiC in hopes that they will build one for you.

The QNAP Firmware already supports multiple Cloud Storage services, so you might have an uphill battle to convince QNAP to support "yet another one". Why aren't you using one of the multiple Cloud Stoage services already supported in the QNAP Firmware?

That does answer my question. Avoiding the NSA is probably impossible anywhere.

Well - France is certainly perfect for cloud storage, where no private person or organisation is permitted to use encryption - unless you hand-over a general key to the authorities...

With France's Anti-Encryption laws, I can't believe anyone outside France would support this request. I know I wouldn't store any of my data within French borders.

You are still living in the last decade. They are no more Anti-Encryption laws in France.
Transmission data through Hubic is encrypted and more secure than any storage in US.
+1 for Hubic

+1 please add Hubic to available cloud storage providers...
If synology did it, Qnap's engineers should be able to do it...
