TS209 & Y CAM

Post by WhiteHexagon »

Two questions about the TS209:

1. What limits the device to only 2 cameras vs the 4 that can be supported with your dedicated solution?

2. Do you plan to support the Y-Cam on the TS209 or only on the dedicated solution.

Basically I'd like to buy a second QNAP box for using this survelance functionality, but I'd much rather buy another TS209 than a dedicated box.

TIA

Y-CAM white and black will be supported. The schedule should be on the february or March firmware release.

Thanks for the response.

Any reply to point 1 above?

I purchased an Axis 207W to get started, and will add some Y CAM's later when supported. Thanks for working on that!
Is there an official guide to getting the 207W configured with the TS209?
Thanks

Please consider using NVR-101 or VS-101 series if you need 4 cameras support.
Sorry that we have no dedicated guide for Axis 207W but its installation is as easy as other cameras.

I seem to have got the Axis 207W up and running, but half the functionality doesn't seem to work with mac OS X bassed browsers.

eg schedule settings, live view and playback all fail, makes it pretty useless on a mac system. Any plans to get this working soon?

most IP camera systems rely on an ActiveX technology to do the live viewing... Sad thing...

Just had this response from Qnap:
I am sorry, but it’s not supported by TS-209 and will not be supported in the future. Due to strategic product positioning, there are some cameras only supported by the NVR product lines. Thanks
Very disappointing!

Edit: QNAP have now confirmed the above is a mistake and the Y-Cam will be supported in the future by the TS-209.
