I too have benefited greatly from his posts. Every tough problem I encountered with QNAP NASes seems to have been posted here and answered succinctly by Patrick. I just came on here to attempt to find his contact information ... since I live near Victoria and share his passion for QNAP NASes, I thought we could get together ... only to find that I just missed my opportunity. Very sad news. Regardless of your beliefs, I hope his spirit has gone to the big NAS in the sky.

I have only just read this very sad news. My condolences to his family.
As others have mentioned, Patrick did not take any prisoners, but he was always succinct and very knowledgeable.
His willingness to help over a wide range of issues will, I am sure, be missed by many users of this forum.

Shame to hear of anyone passing though, unexpected or otherwise. I sincerely hope his family comes through the loss as best as they can.
