As of now, I only use devices that have their own IP gateway.
- LIFX bulbs (wifi).
- OW-SERVER-ENET (for 1wire-devices)
- Onkyo AVR
- Netatmo weather station

But on the long term I will eventually use some kind of receivers.
And that will be the pont where QNAP is not the best solution.

Hi, I have ordered a "Z-Wave ZME_UZB1 Me USB Stick für Windows/Linux" on amazon.de, but I have not jet tested it. I expect it to be delivered tomorrow. Then I will tell about my progress!
I hope it will just be plug & play otherwise I will be lost because I don't have a deep Linux background. We will see ...

Meanwhile I have plugged in the in the Z-Wave ZME_UZB1 Stick into my QNAP TS-219P, but to be honest I have no clue how to see if the Stick was recognised by the system.
A "dmesg" or "lsusb" doesn't show me any devices that look like a Z-Wave ZME_UZB1.

Does anyone know how to find out if the Stick was recognized by the system or how to configure it?

Hello together,

I've installed JRE_ARM and the latest version 2.0.0-a1 successfully on my TS-419PII. But if I enter the configuration URL http://192.168.1.12:8080/start/index.html, I get an "access denied" message inside browser window. The same issue, if I use the latest 1.7??? version (with the other URL http://192.168.1.12:8080/smarthome.app?sitemap=demo).

BigBadWren wrote:Christoph...thanks! Installed the 1.7 qpkg, and it is working great. I also dropped HABmin on top of it (it is a web interface for managing openHAB, in case you haven't heard of it...https://github.com/cdjackson/HABmin) and got that working too...I see a lot of potential in this system...

All...are any of you running an Aeon Labs ZStick as part of your config? I had a heck of a time getting the QNAP (TS-251) to recognize it, and now that I have that working, I cannot figure out how to get opanHAB to recognize it. I have done everything I can think of to do to the binding, to no avail. If any of you have had luck with that particular piece of hardware, I would love some advice...

Thanks,
Greg
Hi BigBadWren, what have you done to get HABmin to work on your QNAP? I'm running a TS-219P and would like to install HABmin on it.

Hi Christoph,
Hi all openhab Users,

I just saw that the new openHAB version 1.8 and 2.0 beta has been released.

Has anyone already build the new QPKG?

Hi There,

I use a QNAP TL-869L and a Storage Pool.

QJDK8 isn't in the place above but in /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/QJDK8

When I changed the file /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/OpenHab/start.sh and replaced the line to
export JAVA=/opt/QJDK8/jre/bin/java into export JAVA=/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/QJDK8/jre/bin/java it worked..

Thanks

Thanks for doing this.

I'm just starting to get into OpenHAB and decided to go with OpenHAB2. I saw there is an alpha1 build up in the download directory and it installed fine on my TS-120.

However, OpenHAB has recently released an alpha2 build that uses Karafe as an OSGI container and I can't figure out how to safely "migrate' from a1 to a2. The directory structure and launch scripts have changed significantly. Are you planning to produce an a2 build or can you offer any tips on how I can do it myself (I'm a Java developer but not familiar with the QNAP nor the OpenHAB structure). TIA.
