Qsync with Ubuntu
Hello,
I'm starting to use Ubuntu instead of windows and there is no version of Qsync for linux.
Is there any way to use Qnap Qsync application with Linux ?
Is there an alternative Qnap application for Qsync that would work on linux ?
Thank you for your help

Re: Qsync with Ubuntu
Hi,
As far as I know, there isn't. Perhaps the only option I can think of is to run wine -- that is, to emulate Windows within Ubuntu. I've never tried it myself but according to this link+
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=16428
it seems that the older version 1.0 is supported.
Of course, I would be interested in something for Linux (without an emulator)!

Re: Qsync with Ubuntu
As suggested by user pwilson, being in the same situation as you, I wrote to QNAP yesterday.
Here below their answer:
"
Hi ,
Thank you for email ,
our development team are working on Qsync for Linux
hopefully it will be available by the end of this year
if you have any info which may help please let us to improve our service please don't hesitate
Thank you
"
Thus, it seems to be only a matter of (short) time...

As long as i use qnap, there are NO linux packages released, but only for windows and mac.
I believe that qnap never has the intention to provide linux packages for their products.

Re: Qsync with Ubuntu
Dear all,
has anyone experience with the newly released Qsync Ubuntu Client (Beta).
https://www.qnap.com/en/utilities/essentials
I've tried it (version 1.0.0.2030) and it works quite well but crashes often (error in line 17 of the qsync.sh skript).
Is there somewhere a special thread on this or a buglist available?
Thanks!

Re: Qsync with Ubuntu
Qsync works fine on Linux Mint 18.2 (base on Ubuntu 16.04)thebeto wrote:Dear all,

However I encountered a problem: It takes forever to login on Ubuntu 18.04.
So I ran it via Terminal: /usr/local/bin/QNAP/QsyncClient/Qsync.sh
and found out this error:
QSslSocket: cannot resolve CRYPTO_num_locks
which implied there's problem with libssl. Install an older version solve my problem:
sudo apt install libssl1.0-dev
If your problem is different, please provide the terminal output/error, so others can analyze it.
