Post by riahc3 » Tue Nov 08, 2016 8:05 pm

Synology has a indexing feature on their NAS.

Im not going to buy QNAP anymore (for reasons) but with the QNAP with have, is there any way to enable indexing?

Synos indexing does allow File Station to index it and its subfolders/files by name, and allows you to search for needed items by filename.

How is this relevant?

Regardless if it's indexed or not: Does the QNAP File Station search not perform good enough?

Desperately want a fully fledged index? Consider QNAP's Qsirch and never think about the other vendor again.

Qsirch is overkill for what the OP is looking for....

Depending on your Web browser, you might have to permit running scripts from the other source...

Because this is the worst POS NAS ever.

Synology runs circles around QNAP
