As per today news QNAP Joins Hands with IFTTT to Boost NAS Productivity Requirements: IFTTT Agent requires a myQNAPcloud account and is available for all QNAP NAS models with QTS 4.2.2 (or later).

It's too bad that myQNAPcloud account is a requirement.

I got excited when I saw this announcement. However it looks like the current trigger for new files only watches the assigned folder and does not look into sub folders. I was so hoping to put a watch on a folder that is open to my community, and get a daily email of any new file additions. Oh well I guess until we get there, I can write an autohotkey script to scrape folders for names, date modified and then sort it on those dates.

Triggers are the key.

New system event - needs to be filterable.
On shutdown
On reboot
New firmware notification
New app update available
Temperature monitoring with thresholds
Specific app crashing notifications

Actions

Run a specific script (command line), with parameters

I have a response from Aseem, he's the go-to guy for IFTTT integration at QNAP.

"1. It would be nice with an IFTTT trigger for pinterest? So we could auto-download our liked images to the qnap.
-> This needs to be provided from Pinterest. Once they provide this trigger, we already have the Action "Download file from URL" to download the images from Pinterest. The last time I tried, I was unable to download images from Pinterest because Pinterest does not provide us downloadable URL.

2. Google calendar, up and down tracker for example.
-> Could you elaborate more on this. What scenario you want exactly? We will create Triggers/Actions accordingly.

3. New system event - needs to be filterable.
-> We already have this. You can filter events as Error/Warning/All.

4. On shutdown
On reboot
New firmware notification
New app update available
Temperature monitoring with thresholds
-> We will check the feasibility and add these triggers in our next version if possible

5. Specific app crashing notifications
-> This can be achieved using our current Trigger "New system events" and setting the filter to Error. However, if you want to get only App Crash notifications specifically, we can add a Trigger like "New system event with a keyword" where you can specify your keyword as "crash" and then you will receive notifications only related to this keyword.

6. Run a specific script (command line), with parameters
Download with Download Station
-> Ok, we will check these."

I added Downloads with Download station to the request.

Keep the suggestions coming and I will forward them to Aseem! :DD

In relation Google calendar, I'm thinking the following: when the system is up, add the item to the calendar, when is going down, the same. At the end it would be good to have events, accesses, and alerts to Google calendar.

Would be great if integration can be done where the administrator would get an email whenever someone logs in to the QNAP. Being able to choose which users ,etc.. would be great.
