Start by establishing an autorun environment on your NAS. The post I linked to includes a script that does this for you.
Then create a shell script (call it resize-tmp.sh
) with the following contents:

mount -o remount,size=1024m /tmp
... and place this script into the scripts
directory shown in that post.
Mark your new script as executable:
Now, whenever you boot, your /tmp directory will be resized.
