Moving MKV from PC to QNAP

Post by Zenophobe »

Speeds start out strong, 111MB/s but end up settling at around 2-5MB/s. Ideas?

Moving large MKV's 13 - 20 GB

And I am cutting in pasting within Windows 10 using the network mapped drive.

Everything is wired with CAT-6 and the QNAP is on Balance-alb. I don't even hear the drives clicking away. Do I have a settings wrong? As I'm typing this I'm down to 1-2 MB/s

TVS-EC1080
9 - HGST HDN72060ALE610 6TB in RAID 6
2 - 512 GB BP4emSATA SSD in RAID 1 Cache Acceleration
32 GB Ram

What else is needed?
NAS: QNAP TVS-EC1080, 9 6TB HDD RAID 6 f/w 4.3.2.0050 Build 20170104
N/W: D-Link 24 port 10/100/1000 switch, FIOS router, Ubiquity Amplifi Access point

I have sort of the same problem

I have TVS-871 and in the past year my transfer speed rate from windows (10) to NAS was average 100 MB/s but suddenly it stuck at 12 MB/s however couple days ago it suddenly went to 100 again by it own
but the next day it it went back to 12MB/s.

I haven't touch any configuration in my windows or my qnap ,only thing i did was frame-ware update couple a times (right now Ver. 4.2.3)
I need to transfer afew terabyte of Data to my NAS and with 12MB/s it will take more than a week to complete

then best is, to open a new thread and not hijack an existing one

As it seems the answer to your issue could be very different to the OP's issue

Since we both have the same problem and I don't use cache ,i think this problem has nothing to do with ssd cache

but just in case i did post a new topic to be safe
