Rebooted VM stuck in "Booting from Hard Disk"

Post by mikerpalmer »

I recently installed Windows 10 Pro as a VM and every time a reboot the VM, it will not boot up and gets stuck a flashing "booting from Hard Disk" screen. If I shut down the VM using the virtualization management application and restart, it starts up just fine. Using V2.2.5625. Any thoughts?

I am seeing the same issue here on Virtualization Station 3.1.729. The QTS version is 4.3.5.0728. It is a TS-253B. I think it is the same issue that shows a flashing "booting from Hard Disk" screen when I reboot my VM. When I power off and then power on the VM, that issue is gone.

It is hard to believe after such a long time, the same issue still exists.

Oh, that looks like the problem I had with Windows Server 2016 Essentials and a QNAP TS-453Be.
The solution was to set the virtual processor to an Core i7. Then it worked without any problem!
