The gtx 1050 is a nice card, I have the gigabyte 1050 ti oc low profile card in one of my boxes, whisper quiet, good choice... Hopefully we will see these boxes become available in the next few days because my money has almost completely burned through my pocket, its hanging on by a thread.. :DD

You may want to look at the crucial m.2 mx300s as crucial is having a Black Friday sale on them on their website.

I have seen some 3rd party resellers listing the Ryzen 1600 models as in stock on Amazon at prices close to Amazons Ryzen 1700 price.

Looks like Amazon got some in stock, although they seem to be going quick (or they didn't get a large shipment).

Thank you.. I was ready to order the tvs-1282 i7 and then saw the info about ts-1277, so I decided to wait, seems to me its the better box.. I am an intel guy, always have been in all my pc builds, but we are talking 8 core here vs the slightly faster core clock i7-6700 4 core..

I cannot figure out what is the expander box for the TS-1277 (once you add the 12G PCIe card).
It does not talk about this on the QNAP website. Is it the REXP-1000 Pro ?

Under features on Qnap site for the ts-1277 it says , Connect up to 2 UX-800P, UX-500P or up to 4 REXP-1000 Pro expansion enclosures. Use the QTS Storage & Snapshots Manager to easily handle NAS capacity expansion. Is this what you are asking?

The UX requires USB 3.0 ports, the REXP-1000 Pro are SAS expansion boxes. FMI: https://www.qnap.com/en/product/rexp-1000%20pro (TS-x77 not listed here yet).

Re: Ryzen TS-X77 available for sale now?

Post by Bob Zelin »

Hi troubleshooter -
thanks for the info. I went back on the QNAP site, and found it. They usually show a picture of the main unit with the expanders, but not this time.
So I was lazy, and did not read the doc carefully enough.
While I am very anxious to see the TS-1277, my applications always need a 10G card and the 12G SAS expander card. I am not seeing a price difference between this
and the TVS-1282T or TS-1685 (which are the boxes I most commonly install). I fully understand that with QTS 4.3.4 you can put in a GPU card (like an AMD Radeon or NVidia GTX),
but you can certainly do this on a TS-1685 with the larger power supply (550 Watt). So I am still questioning the advantage of the Ryzen vs. the Intel and why I would buy this box
instead of the 1282 or 1685.
