I just bought a QNAP TS-251A. I love this device. It's got some really cool features. For one, Qsync & ISCSI were great!
Before I buy some new drives for the thing, I was wondering whether QNAP recommended a curtain kind of Hard Drive?
As it sits right now, I have a mixed matched set of 1 Seagate 2TB and 1 Western Digital 2TB. I just had these drives laying around so I'm using them for testing purposes. Although I won't be using these drives as my permanent drives, I am getting an error message on the Western Digital. Does QNAP work better with Seagate?
Thanks,
What does QNAP recommend as far as a HDD?

Check the QNAP compatibility list for drives.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
