Confusing info about 1677x does this come with built in m2 slots

Post by bapw@comcast.net »

I was looking at the compatibility page for the 1677x and noticed m2 slots built in but I thought I remembered that there were no built in slots for that model. The other 77x under specs list built in m2 but not the 1677x but there it is on the compatibility page. Seems a bit confusing.

yeah the spec page is not indicating m.2 ssd support... which would be the internal m.2 ssd slots that i have in my ts-877 model.

i also checked on the compatibility and they list m.2 as compatible devices
https://www.qnap.com/en-us/compatibilit ... ategory=23

so my assumption is that maybe the specification page they forgot to add m.2 ? is best to clarify with qnap sales to find out, and suggest they fix this error to clarify.

based on this picture diagram (based on internal view) @ 7:24

i don't think it has internal m.2 slots. so their m.2 support might have been via QM2 card addon for adding M.2 ssd support (which also gives you the option for M.2 NVME which is much better than M.2 SATA)

so maybe they need to amend the specification page with notes: no internal M.2 SSD slot, however can add this via QM2 addon card.
