exFAT on TS-412

Post by AlfaKen »

Hi all - Newbie here.

Does anyone have an answer to why my recently acquired TS-412 can't use the exFAT app?
I mistakenly paid the $3.99 assuming it would... yes I then saw the notices :-(
Also, any fast way to upload from external drives please?

My guess is, the old marvel kirkwood architecture is incompatible with it (or qnap/3rd party supplier did not want to spent time on developing it)

fast upload from external drives? please elaborate

Thanks.
Oh well.

I have my music on external USB drives but it takes days to transfer each folder via my laptop.
I was thinking the onboard - front or back - would be able to do this?
Foolish me?

I dont think the usb 2.0 ports on my old 419p+ (newer than yours) are faster than the network

so connecting the drive directly would have made not much difference

How are you sure it's not working?? Does it show up at all in the storage manager or at the top of QTS's taskbar?

When you insert a USB stick, only the "ADMIN" can see the drive in file station. QNAP turns it into a share, where only the "admin" has R/w permissions. You have to log in with any admin account and give R/W permissions to use that drive to any of your other users.

I have a 451+, with the exFAT license, and it's no different from any other USB drive for me.
