Hi
I have a LUN which was shared between few servers (silly me). Thankfully there were snapshots enabled, however, all of them contain partially good data.
These are vhdx files from hyper-v machine.
Is there any way of merging snapshot LUN's somehow, or accessing content of the LUN from Qnap itself in order to speed up the transfer process?
Currently the only option I came up with is to find least corrupted lun snapshot, then from other snapshots copy vhdx files. However that will involve mounting on the host and transferring the data via the host. Obviously this will slow things down a lot. I have 4 maybe 5 disk files to transfer between each other to have a complete working virtual machine. We are talking about 5-6 TB to move and the VM itself is 55TB.

How did you end up with a 55TB VM?
You keep VMs as small as possible and use datastores (share links) for the heavy lifting file server stuff.

55TB VM is something I inherited from previous sysadmin.
I'm just a contractor, trying to un-mess the mess and yes, stripping down that 55TB VM as well as few other heavy VM's is in a pipe line already.
