Myqnapcloud can not upload files or folders

Post by zeppelin55 »

Hi,

i want to share a folder from my NAS and give some friends ability to upload files and folders. I created a smart share link and when i open that link, the upload button is missing.

How is it possible to give my friends upload ability to that folder?

Here are some screenshots of my configuration:

I really appreciate your help.

Sorry i have no idea what you mean. Do i have to enable Webdav in order to allow uploads to a shared Myqnapcloud folder? If yes how can i do that?

QNAP and its horrible user interface / software is really becoming a nightmare for me. Why is everything so complicated? Why is there not just a option "allow upload" when sharing a folder of the myQnapcloud? I have absolutely no idea why uploading is not working and im trying since several days to get this working :(

You don't need Webdav.
Did you tick "allow file upload to this folder"?

hmm i am confused now. As far i can see, you create this share and allow file upload from the "File Station".

Maybe im wrong but i think the file station has nothing to do with the myQNAPcloud?

I thought i need to use the share function in "https://www.myqnapcloud.com"?

Please explain me the difference between file station and myqnapcloud?

the link is not working "http://myName.myqnapcloud.com:8080/share.cgi?ssid=xxxxx"

But when i created another Smartshare link that is finally working fine and uploading is also working fine!!! :)

But what is the difference between the above shared link and the smartshare link? Maybe i need to forward some ports in my router to make the first link working? Which ports do i need to forward to my NAS?

I think it is really confusing that qnap offers the ability to share folders when logged in to myqnapcloud.com but then the uploading is not working. So the solution here was to create the share from the file station and enable the file uploading from there.

Logged into myqnapcloud as whom, an admin user? A user with permissions?

When you create share links you can give them existing or new users and you can give completely open access (not recommended).

Whereas myqnapcloud login is locked to permissions of existing user accounts.

Yes don't know the answer to that. admin should have all privileges.
