Hello all!
The setup
TVS-951x connected to a QSW-804-4C switch via 10Gbe RJ45
Win10 PC also connected to the QSW-804-4C switch from 10Gbe NIC
Green light connection activity from the Win10 PC to the switch
Zero activity from the TVS-951x both on the switch and the rear activity/connection lights
If I connect the TVS-951x to the QSW-804-4C switch via its 1Gbe connection it lights up (amber of course) and the Win10 PC can see and access the NAS.
Any idea what gives? I'm very computer literate but networking is a weak spot. Curious if I'm making a fatal error ... but expected at least connection lights from the NAS 10Gbe port.
Thanks!

This is unmanaged switch, no config necessary.
IP addresses of 1 and 10GbE ports on NAS/PC/network would be useful. Are they static or DHCP?
If you connect NAS 10GbE port direct to PC (169.254.100.100) do they talk to eachother?

DHCP
I did attempt to direct connect 10Gbe on NAS to 10Gbe NIC for an ad-hoc connection but again ... no connection lights or ability to configure that adapter on the NAS. Only options for adapter 2 (1Gbe) were available.

simple question, same cable in both tests? Don't have a faulty cable on the NAS 10GbE port?

Hrm ... You know, I did try multiple cables but I did NOT try the one cable confirmed to connect 10Gbe (PC to switch).
Not a ton of high hopes but definitely another thing to check off the list.

Need pictures from vswitch manager, ip information, etc.
First thing I would try is simple QNAP - PC direct connection with static IP's assigned. Then make sure can ping each other. IF that works, then NICs are good and cable is good.

Update -
Yay, I'm not as dumb as I once thought. Unit was determined DOA by the kind and helpful folks at QNAP support. Returning for new unit.
