Got this error

Post by mjuhl123456 »

Hi,

Get this error;

[Hardware Status] NAS out of memory. Started kill process: 6248 "mongod". Disable some applications to free up memory, or expand the system memory.

Anyone have same issues?

Only when being low on RAM.
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!

A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.

All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!

What was the NAS doing when you saw that?
I'm getting low RAM messages when using Hybrid Backup Sync to restore files from a USB HDD to my storage volume.

Hi,

I also get this error message now and again. I'm trying to trace what application uses mongoDB.

It doesn't appear to affect anything running on the box, I just get the error. I don't actually see the NAS run out of memory either.

I run plex, OpenVPN (built-in), hybrid backup/sync and container station (two containers - pihole/unifi)

Anyone have any ideas? Would like to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks,

Paul

Sorry, I forgot to subscribe to this thread:
TS-453be 8GB RAM
Firmware now: 4.3.6.0933 (had this issue for many firmware revisions - no difference)

My RAM is always about about 70% free. I just get this message every week or so periodically, without any symptoms of any issues. Just this log message about mongod

Hi Zefal,

Did you ever find out what was causing these out of memory messages?

I have the exact same NAS and warning messages..

I'm fairly confident it's related to the Unifi controller as I've only started to get it once I installed the UC in a container
