DNS Server Cannot Resolve Hosts

I can't tell from this thread if you found the problem yet with your DNS server, but from below

Your Gateway is 192.169.1.1 and DNS server is 192.168.1.1 which is pointing to your gateway. I am guessing the DHCP server if miss-configured and should be set to 8.8.8.8 or whatever you Inet provider has for their DNS servers.

My guess is your router? is your Gateway and is running DHCP at 1.1 and does not actually do DNS lockups for that. Some machines may still work even with in correct setting until their DNS is flushed (Windows - best just flush windows and install linux anywho )

'/etc/resolv.conf' with 'nameserver 127.0.1.1' is normal.
Configure your DNS servers in Control Panel > Network & File Services > Network Virtual Switch > Virtual Switch > Configure

127.0.1.1 is NOT normal. It should be 127.0.0.1.
My QNAP box was not able to resolve DNS names, so I updated /etc/resolv.conf as below

nameserver 127.0.0.2
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
