Sonoff Tasmota - how connect to IOT Suite Lite

Post by Miky07 »

I want to connect Sonoff with Tasmota firmware by using the MQTT protocol to IOT Suite lite on NAS Qnap. I can not fix it. Sonoff sends logs but I do not know how to connect to IOT. The device is assigned IP address and "admin" and "user". I do not know what to enter in these entries because it will not connect. Is there any manual how to connect MQTT devices to IOT?

Hi,

was anybody successfull with connecting Sonoff Tasmota with QIot ?
From my understanding this should not be possible, as QIoT is generating too long usernames and passwords.
On the Github Tasmota pages it is stated that the max number of digits for username and password is 32 Byte, but QIoT is generating a 36 byte username and a 34 byte password.

So I think this is the issue why I can not connect QIoT with my Sonoff Tasmota switch.

Is there any config available to tell QIoT to use less bytes for username and password ?

Hello Pumlux,

first I am totally new in these things ...though I am trying to use Tasmota/ Qiot as well...
Yes Qiot PW is the problem but there is a modified Tasmota Flash which can 40 characters etc , please check -> https://github.com/localhost61/Sonoff-T ... /PR%234755
I was using this and got Qiot and Tasmota to work via MQTT. Meanwhile I am back using simple http requests as MQTT is still a bit hard for me ...
