Infiniband support?

Post by clevelas »

Not sure what happened to my post from yesterday, so sorry if this is double posted.

I'm looking at the ES1640dc v2 and was wondering if the Mellanox 40G card supports Infiniband. The card itself should (although it's a qnap part number, so maybe some changes were made), but I don't know if QES would support it. Specifically looking at IPoIB.

Thanks,
- Steve

And you think the ES1640DC can push Infiniband bandwidth speeds???

My original post included that question. We're currently using an old poweredge server. Our hpc use case is generally more cpu and memory sensitive. I'm just looking at options at this point. If you mention hpc or infiniband to a vendor, all they see is $$.

This isn't a performance box, a TS-2483XU-RP would outperform it.

Can't see adding while it performs the way it does.
