do you have discord for private chat? maybe i can try help you from there :'

yeah i just finished doing my daily. free to help :)

just some friendly tip, maybe censor your images to remove the sensitive info like your wan ip address etc. i use GIMP (which is free). You can make a rectangle selector and add a blur effect. I do that a bunch of times (cause once is not enough according to articles online).

for now probably, remove screenshots from public space :)

Hi again Moogle...I decided to continue onto the "Advanced Mode".

Here again I selected the checkbox for "Adapter 1":
Virtual Switch #3.jpg
After clicking "Next", I selected "Static IP" and "Use the same settings as the selected adapter." as shown here:
Virtual Switch #4.jpg
I skipped the following page because I have a fixed IP address (this is perhaps where I'm going wrong):
Virtual Switch #5.jpg
I then clicked "Next" to get the following screen where I selected "Disable":
Virtual Switch #6.jpg
I then clicked on "Next" and entered my Primary & Secondary DNS servers:
Virtual Switch #7.jpg
I then clicked on "Next" to get this summary page:
Virtual Switch #8.jpg
I then clicked on "Apply" and after a very long time the screen went back to the starting point but there were no changes made!

Cheers again,

Jerry

in your screenshot the selection shows adapter1. but i don't think that is correct.

You should be selecting the wireless adapter for making the virtual switch for. Those adapter1 etc, those are your ethernet ports.

so for some reason, your wireless adapter is not listed? hm

by the way i just pm'd you on discord.

ok i think we made some head way.

we managed to get wireless adapter detected in virtual switch by removing wireless ap station, restart qnap, reinstall wireless ap station.... re-add wireless access point.

it then creates a virtual switch for the wireless ap, and it successfully becomes active.

not sure why it bugged out like that before, but remember that container station is a dependency for wireless ap station. so maybe not a good idea to remove or disable container station, because wireless apstation requires it to function. i suspect that could be one possible cause.

i noticed that the virtual switch created bundled your adapter1 with your wireless adapter. I'm not sure if that is ideal or not.

For me, i separated adapter1 and wireless adapter. meaning i had 1virtual switch solely for adapter1, and another switch created solely for the wireless adapter.

I think the reason i did that, was because i may have had issues with the initial setup. Maybe someone can explain about this better than i :'
