Least CPU intensive for ESXi VM hosting - NFS or iSCSI?

Post by kelv1n »

Hi Guys

So I've curious, currently I have 2 ESXi hosts (homelab) connected to my TS-873 using NFS.. But after a huge investment in the box (and add-on), I want to use it for other things too.

For minimising resource usage such as CPU and RAM, what is best, iSCSI or NFS?

ISCSI pushes some workload onto host (particularly reads)
NFS is mostly the NAS doing the work.

So use ISCSI
