QVR Face

Post by notoken »

Hi all

I found this https://www.qnap.com/en/news/2019/enter ... -west-2019 on the internet.

It speaks of QVR Face for facial recognition with QVR Pro.

Anyone knows when this will be available for the public and what kind of hardware will be needed?

Thanks in advance!

well unless qnap product support comes by (and they don't...maybe once every couple of months) then how would the question be answered? none of the forum regulars work for qnap or get any secret news from them

open a ticket if you need answers from them

Just got an announcement in my email today about the release of QVR face. The choice of models for which it is released is puzzling to say the least:
Only the x73 and the x53... Why not release on all the more powerful units line the x80, x82, x77 etc... It is definitely CPU intensive but... the x53 really?

Big disappointment is also on the license... At this price, you know what, I will go with Home assistant facial recognition component running on a VM on the QNAP. It is open source, I am already running it.
I won't even bother to request expanding the app to other units.
Server: TVS-872XT i9 9900 ES, 64GB DDR4 2666MHz, intel X550-T2, Asus RTX3070 Dual OC (On pico PSU), 2x Phison E12 1TB M.2, 4x Micron 5210 7.68TB, 4x WD Purple 4TB
Backup NAS: TS-473 20GB DDR4 2400MHz, Mellanox ConnectX3, 2x Samsung PM871b 256GB M.2, 4x WD Red 8TB
Former units: TVS-1282, TS-871, TS-469
Locked
