Hello Guys,
I just came back from my holidays and I restarted my NAS (653A) after 1 month of inactivity. After a normal start and after updating PMS addon I suddenly got warning/error messages about a failure occurred to on of the disks of my RAID 5 configuration. I removed the HDD and reinserted in the rack and it seems now to don't have any issue, currently the NAS is "Rebuilding the system". Checking the health of the disk it seems ok, I'm wondering if I shall be warned and replace the disk or it may be considered like something unusual.
Please your advice is much appreciated.
Regards!

Re: Raid 5 - Disk Failure
Hi there, you should replace any disk that reports a failure. SMART test is worth doing too. both rapid and full.
99.9% of the time the disk is failing and warning of a failure is imminent to the drive. make sure you have upto date backups.

Re: Raid 5 - Disk Failure
After assistance from the Helpdesk it seems like the HDD is fine but there may be some communication error between disk and back plane.
