Cannot access QTS via local IP or Public IP

Post by dspit1664 »

Hi,
not sure if this is the right place to post this or not if not please mod move it to the right place.

Don't know what additional info you may need to help but:

I am trying to troubleshoot why initially my Plex stopped working and I could not access it remotely from iphone/ipad/tv when I could quite happily do this. It did appear to coincide with a system update on my NAS, I can't provide the detail at the moment as I cannot connect to it via local 192.168.1.x IP doesn't seem to open QTS. It does try at least but then times out. I see it attempts tls handshake and gets redirected to https but then just times out.

I've tried to ping the ip from local laptop but fails also I can see it from my Network on my laptop but thats as far as I get I cannot connect to it.

I can see it in QFinder, I see in it that there is a new OS to download and install but that fails, I downloaded it locally to my laptop and trying to manually upload/install that seems to be progressing currently its at 10% so seems to be working.

Questions are?
Why might I all of a sudden not be able to login to QTS and what info do you need to help me resolve this ?

Please help :)

Aha that would help. : 251b
I'm currently trying a manual upload via qfinder. Left it running over night see what happens in the morning.

Can't try via ssh as cannot ping but will try in morning via putty or similar.
Thanks will keep this post updated.

any output from the manual update ? should be relatively verbose

if that doesn't help you might have to do a firmware recovery

From the little I’ve been able to do today (as I’m at work :DD ) I feel this has something to do with enabling https.
Reasons - I’ll post later when I’m able to.

It eventually seems like it’s going to go in saying ‘Welcome to QNAP Turbo NAS’
But never completes.
