Wake on Lan through Google Assistant

Post by maxs84 »

Hello to all,
recently they gave me a google nest mini and I started to discover its features / utilities.
I discovered that there is an online service called IFTTT that allows you to connect various devices that do not natively interface.
Among the many services available on IFTTT there is also "google assistant" and "qnap" but unfortunately natively through voice commands you can only:
- turn off in nas
- free the nas
- restart the nas
but unfortunately there is no Wake on Lan (WOL).

Searching online I saw that it would be possible to start a host remotely via a url using the services offered by:
www.wakeonlan.me
www.depicus.com

Unfortunately, however, I can't get them to work and I don't understand why.

If I could start the nas through these sites I could, through IFTTT and Webhooks, launch the url via voice command and then start the nas with your voice.

Anyone have any ideas?

Here are the few steps:

IFTTT - Create a applet Google Assistant
"Say a simple phrase" and choose the wake up sentence, for example "Turn on PC"

use "make a web request"from webhook service with the following parameters:

url: on depicus domain use /wake-on-lan/woli-ajax.php
method: POST
content type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
bodu: macadderss=XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX&ip=your-ip.com&subnet=1&port=9&secureon=

And that's it!

Allow port on your router to you PC IP Lan (something like 192.168.1.XXX
