Good day QNAP team and users.
I have collected media files to my QNAP and I want them to be open to public. I want to share my cloud qnap url to give access to guests. However, I could not find how to use guest mode(without password). Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance. My QNAP model is TVS-682T.
PS. I have tried to use 'guest' as a username and password as in the manual. However, it did not help.

Re: Guest Account
no qnap team here
after all the recent malware attacks..are you sure you want to expose your nas to the open web ?
what exactly do you want to do anyways ? expose file station I guess?
dropbox, onedrive, etc would be much safer

Re: Guest Account
Thanks for your instant reply.
The situation is as follows. Our organisation wants to keep all media material in one device(QNAP). Parallely we want all them to be open to public. So we need a guest mode(RO) for only reading. On the other hand, the administrator will have access to RW. I have seen a chechbox in the settings of shared folder(RO for guest access). However, I could not find anything about geust mode on Manual and forums. Do you know how to open a guest mode to public?
Do you think Malware attacks can be done in RO mode?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Guest Account
define "public"
public = non authenticated users in your local network
public = all of the internet
