REXP drive no longer visible

My TS-670 Pro unit (6 drives) has a REXP unit ( with 12 drives)

recently i lost access to the folders on the REXP
when i log into the 670 , it no longer sees the attached REXP.
  • i have done all these steps, yet no positive results
    power cycle both units
    power one done to see if it can see the other on reboot
    remove the cable and re seat it
    remove the interface card and spray the contacts with contact cleaner

  • does anyone know how i can debug this to find out what the issue is
    are there commands i can run to see what the issue is
at this time, i cant tell if its a 670 issue, REXP issue, interface card issue or cable issue

VOIP hard and soft client with SIP digital and analog telco trunk
NAS & all clients: 1Gbit/s with dual trunk ports

there is no recover option as it is grayed out.

are there any commands i can run from a shell to see what the issue is? NAS, REXP, cable, interface card , one way link etc.

please advise.

What does "md_checker" say?
Try restarting Storage Manager "/etc/init.d/init_lvm.sh"
"lspci " shows pci devices

I assume you tried the other port of the card.
I would start by suspecting SAS cable/card.

i tried all combinations of cable moving even swapping ends- though the cable is marked as directional (;

i ordered a new cable off Amazon. it will be here in a week or two

is there any way to check the IF card in the QNAP

anyway to get logs from the REXP via a external connection
