Cant copy large files

Post by QSISteve »

I have a problem with my TVS951X.

I cant copy large files to the shares. I get the attached message. I can copy smaller files without a problem. The machine I'm copying from is Windows 10.

I've confirmed the following:
AFP and ACL are enabled and my user does have full access to the folder. I've tried both as an individual user and as part of a user group.
I've tried all flavours of SMB1-3

I had QNAP Tech support have a look but they went away scratching their heads.

I also have an HS-251+ where I dont have an issue.

TVS is setup as a ADDC.

Anybody any thoughts?

So you are using Apple Stuff (because you said AFP is active) but then on top a DC running on the QNAP ? (don't even know if Apple stuff can join domains .. never had any Applethings)

RAM of your NAS original ?

What Firmware is the NAS running ?

No - even if you have any kind of recent Mac you don't need AFP...SMB is the "new" AFP :-)

Is Win/Mac/NFS > Advanced Options > Enable Asynchronous I/O checked?

Disabled AFP. Confirm Asynchronous IO is checked.

Problem still present.

OK so that is non default RAM, test with the original RAM and see if it still happens

All sorts of bad thing can happen with non compatible RAM

Have you looked at the System logs on the QNAP?
Otherwise try running Wireshark https://www.wireshark.org/#download on the PC that is having the issue.
