Hi,
I created a virtual switch and in the process set my DNS servers to google.
I now have a pi-hole and would like to switch to that.
However, I cannot find a way to alter the dns server settings. Do I need to delete that switch and start again?

If you mean on the Qnap you set it in the settings of the physical interfaces, unless you use DHCP for your IP-assignment as then you would do the change in the DHCP-server.jameshenderson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 8:44 pm However, I cannot find a way to alter the dns server settings.
Most likely not.Do I need to delete that switch and start again?
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!
A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.
All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!

Hi,
Thanks for you reply.
Thanks for you reply.
I am on a static IP, so no DHCP.
yes, I do mean on the QNAP, but as I am on a static IP, I can see but not edit the DNS server IPs.

got it!
I had to re-configure the virtual Switch that was connected to that adaptor.
Settings -> Network and Virtual Switch -> Virtual Switch -> Configure
