Try to upgrade from QES 2.1.1.0405 to 2.1.1.0462 and fail with this error!

Hello,

we got the same problem on our ES1686dc running Firmware 2.1.1.0405.
It is not possible to upgrade to another firmware. e.g. 2.1.1 build 20200515 or 2.1.1 build 20200811.
Firmware 2.1.1.0405 is not listed in the donwload list anymore. It seems like they took this firmware offline because of bigger bugs.
We also have the Problem on Firmware 2.1.1.0405 that it is not possible to create port aggregation.
We also contacted qnap now and we are waiting for response.

we have the following answer from QNAP

1.Please help to update to 2.1.1_v7 sp2 first(Yours is 2.1.1_v7)

If WebGUI doesn’t work, please try SSH to NAS and try below update command:
#fwupdate start -p /share/share1/ES164Xdc.img

2.Please schedule a downtime for us to help you scan all the files to avoid a know issue happen

3.Wait for our 2.1.1_v9 to update it again(ETA is Sep 19,2020)

Same issue here...on both our units!

And also the same answer from QNAP...:-( Well, I guess they know it's not a 'one off' case.

I tried som differnt stuff like enabling SSH on on NICs, but to no avail.

Has anyone got any further (still no newer FW from QNAP).

Now after having tried a firmware update, I start getting 'disk write errors' in the system log, but SMART says noting abount any errors. Is anyone else seing the same?

QNAP updated our ES1686dc to 2.1.1_v7 sp2.
They told us now to update to 2.1.1 build 20200811. But this is not working. We get the same Update error.
I have a case open and I'm waiting for response.

Another question to all of you using this bigger machines:
Is someone using Port Trunking and has a VLAN on the Trunk?
I noticed that the Port Status is switching to "STANDALONE". Does this mean Port Trunking does not work anymore?
I Noticed the same on QTS, but there is a notice: "Adapter 3+4 does not support port trunking while a VLAN is active on the adapter"

no but we had a lot of trouble with Port Trunking. Which is declared as an bug also.
So far: new device -> Enterprise Segment
and just not usable. Very disapointed.

I just tried to update to the latest firmware (2.1.1 build 20201006), but still get the same error. Has anyone had any luck with the latest firmware?

I also have a trunk on NIC 3+4, but no dedicated VLAN.
