It started downloading on my NAS at about 3.5 MB/s, then said "Connection close at byte xxxxxxx. Retrying." It reconnected for a few seconds at around 2 MB/s, then closed the connection again. I assume it keeps closing and reopening the connection because it is just repeating a short speed test?
please quote me to have a quick answer...
My simple conclusion is that your NAS has no active / enabled internet connection,
How old are the cables from Modem to NAS?
Do you use Powerline or similair exotic hardware?

The ethernet cable is brand new. It was included in the box with my NAS. I don't use Powerline or any exotic hardware. Just a coax from the wall into my Modem/Router, and then a new ethernet cable from there to my NAS.
Were the results of my speed test not indicative of an active connection? It was downloading the 10 GB file. It wasn't moving very fast but it was doing something...

Hi all. I just connected my TVS-871 this morning and am getting things setup and have this same exact issue. I"m going to try and download an older firmware and see what happens.
So I woke up this morning and the App Center loaded perfectly with no issues. I didn't reboot, change any settings, or roll back the firmware. I'm glad everything works now, but a little puzzled over what the issue was... maybe someone at QNAP headquarters tripped over a wire on the way out Friday afternoon, and nobody noticed until they came back in on Monday?
I still have an open help ticket, so if/when they respond I will let you guys know what they say. Thanks for the help everyone.
I also had a problem with the App center to connect.
In my case it was the "Gateway" setting that was empty.
The gateway address shown was the same IP address as the NAS Ethernet IP.
I went to Network - TCP/IP - IP Address - Edit
Then enter the Gateway IP (often the IP of your router)
That fixed it for me.
I've downloaded https://store.qnapclub.eu/store/en.xml to smb://WEB/qnapeu/en.xml folder on NAS set third party respiratory to http:/127.0.0.1:8080/qnapeu/en.xml and all worked including Install This is QNAP bug 100% as regular QNAP Store works. Problem looks like in non Valid Certificate and permanent 301 redirection from http://store.qnapclub.eu/store/en.xml
I had the same issue , searched a lot and tried to change network adapters settings with no luck , at the end I found that the time settings for some reason was set manually and was wrong , months back , so I changed to automatic using NTP and then things started working back again as normal.
I have a similar problem, I suspect something might not be set up correctly. However, I noticed it is easy to manually install packages (it is on the top right). From there you can browse applications and choose what you want to install; that seems to work fine for me.
