This is why its so frustrating to own a NAS from QNAP...
I deliberately don't tinker with my NAS. Its complex and I only really need it to do simple things. I do update to latest firmware releases as they are advised. Always reboot first where required.
I have 15,000 photos that a while back I got all set up on the NAS. Photo Station and QUMagie working great.
I just noticed tonight the latest photos I dropped into the multimedia folder are not appearing in either PhotoStation or QUMagie.
MultimediaConsole seems to have deleted the content sources I set up. It won't let me add any new sources. Thumbnal generation is also not operating and when I try to open that sectionof MMC I get a 'Loading' message but no matter how long I leave it, it never actually loads. i.e. Through NOTHING I have done, my mulitmedia console is now borked - I assume with a recent firmware upgrade. The knock on is thumbnal generation, QUMagie and Photostation sources are knackered and I have no idea how to get this all back. I am NOT planning to sit through 15,000 QUMagie images again sorting them out.
Anyone else having issues with MMC? I'm running 1.3.0 version on the most up to date NAS Firmware - how the hell would a firmware update have deleted my content sources???

Re: Multimedia Console Problems!
OK - so this is a firmware problem.
Latest version is 4.5.1.1465 build 20201024
I rolled back to 4.4.3.1421 build 20200907
and my content sources in MMC have magically re-appeared.
Thumbnail generation has picked up the most recently added photos and all is well again.
I have raised a ticket with QNAP that the most recent firmware breaks multimedia console.

Re: Multimedia Console Problems!
Response from QNAP support -
"Thanks for contacting QNAP support, there are a few changes within 4.5.1. You will need to install Cayan media player for thumbnails now"
I installed that app when it was released - found it to be a buggy crock and uninstalled it...now it seems its required for proper functioning of media console? Seriously?
OK will roll forward my firmware again and reinstall Cayan - see how I get on.

Re: Multimedia Console Problems!
So - rolled firmware forward again and re-installed Cayan media player.
Multimedia console broken again. Sources disappeared and not able to re-add them. Photo Station not detecting newly added photos etc etc
I've gone back to QNAP to advise.

Re: Multimedia Console Problems!
Well...
turns out this is possibly/probably some conflict with Safari browser rather than anything the QNAP is doing wrong?
I can log in to the QNAP on Chrome and Multimedia Console is displaying all my media sources etc.
Log in from my usual browser (safari) and Multimedia console is not displayign sources.
See screenshot - same server logged in as same admin user from same Mac.
Left hand side is Chrome, Right hand side in Safari.
Unbelievable (to me anyway). Why would two browsers pointing at the same NAS, both show different things?

Re: Multimedia Console Problems!
Had the exact same problem.
The solution was deleting my browser cache.
After that I was able to see the statistics again.
