Re: QNAP TS-453 Pro stuck on "SYSTEM BOOTING"
completely disconnected the power supply from the motherboard and replaced the cmos battery.
Now the HDD leds are green , but still no system temp and wrong fan rpm.
Also noticed that the power supply fan isn’t turning...

Same here with an 853 pro that had not been updated in the last 6 months or so

I do have the same problem!
Please can you help with a picture?
I've read the topic but it is not yet clear to me where to solder the 100 Ohm resistor!

Re: QNAP TS-453 Pro stuck on "SYSTEM BOOTING"
Ok, did it for mz TS+853 PRO
2. remove the cover
3. find the LPC_CN1 on the board and identify pin no1 (I measured 2,4V) 4. solder a 100Ohm to it (I did it on the back since it was easier to access) and connect the opposite to the ground screw.
Now everything work as before!!!!
After the start I looked to the error messages and this is what I found just before the failure:
Severity Level Date Time Users Source IP Application Category Content
Error 2020/11/07 23:05:20 System 127.0.0.1 Hardware Status Fans [Hardware Status] System fan 2 failed.
Error 2020/11/07 23:04:45 System 127.0.0.1 Hardware Status Fans [Hardware Status] System fan 1 failed.
Fans are O.K.

Re: QNAP TS-453 Pro stuck on "SYSTEM BOOTING"
Glad it works out for you as well. The GND is on pin 8,10, circled in red and a bit challenge to solder, but will look nicer. If you still have your system opened, can you measure the resistance of the R488 for me? While cleaning up the holes for a full connector, the soldering wick picked it up and disappeared, so I ended up just bridging it with a solder blob. Can you help to confirm if it's 0 Ohm (or some other value) for me? Thanks!

Re: QNAP TS-453 Pro stuck on "SYSTEM BOOTING"
I had a dead TS-453 PRO which was stuck on SYSTEM BOOTING with 4 red drive lights.
I just applied the 100ohm resistor fix suggested by yujungchang which worked for user my853 and it worked for me too! The system it totally back to normal
THANK YOU yujungchang! If you were local I'd buy you a beer!

Re: QNAP TS-453 Pro stuck on "SYSTEM BOOTING"
I wouldn't call it a fix and back to normal, although it does make it more likely to boot. Since the clock will still be degraded further along with the time, you should turn it off when not in use and that will conserve its life. If you still have your system open, can you do me a favor to measure the resistance of that R488? Thanks!Snowsti wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:47 am I had a dead TS-453 PRO which was stuck on SYSTEM BOOTING with 4 red drive lights.

Dear yujungchang, thanks for the tip. Now the system is closed but I will open within few days it and measure the resistance.

FYI, the x53's life is extended from a firmware point of view and has received latest 4.5 build. EOL list has been updated as well, see https://www.qnap.com/en/product/eol.php . Maybe QNAP got inspired with all the people here breathing new life in their broken units .

Amazing- the 100 Ohm resistor tip worked for me as well - it's up and running again.
Thank you.
Thank you.
