Plex Media Server no longer in Network Location or accessible by TV after update

Post by ManassasMan52 »

I updated the Plex Media Server several days ago to version 1.21.0 and since then I can no longer see the Plex Server icon in my Network Locations in Windows File Explorer. I also cannot see the Plex Server in the list of devices on my TV which is connected to my home network via a switch. Any help would be appreciated.

It did yesterday but I have rebooted since then. Now I get:

This site can’t be reached
192.168.1.103 refused to connect.

I did a manual install of PlexMediaServer-1.20.1.3252-a78fef9a9-x86_64.qpkg and now I can click Open on the Plex Server in the App Center and the page opens but I get the following message:

Media not found.
The media you're trying to access doesn't seem to exist.

Yes, I just retried and I can play my media in the web player. I also rebooted the NAS again but this didn't appear to make a difference. I also enabled remote access in Plex and this also didn't seem to do anything as far as seeing Plex in my Network Locations or from network attached devices.

In my router, the UPnP shows:

UPnP Service List
Total Clients: 1Refresh
ID Service Description External Port Protocol Internal IP Address Internal Port
1 Plex Media Server 19748 TCP 192.168.1.103 32400

And the clients are:

1 LGwebOSTV A8-23-FE-1F-0F-54 192.168.1.100 21:42:02

any issues visible in the logs ?

the plex forums might be a better bet

make sure upnp is off in your router..big security risk (opening ports by any device on your lan)

also the router wouldn't come into play on lan2lan connections
