md_checker 0 and 1 missing

Post by mastrasser »

Qnap TS-869 Pro
Firmware version: 4.3.4.2242 Build 20221124
Memory: 3000

I constantly get the File system not clean message, running the file system check does not help. Sometimes shutting it down and waiting a minute before turning it back on produces a DatVol1 that works. most of the time it shows read only , I rebuild the raid before and it worked for a while , then back to the issue

trying to unmount md1 produces
umount /dev/md1
umount: /dev/md1: not mounted

trying to mount MD1 gives me
mount /dev/md1
mount: can't find /dev/md1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

running a md_checker produces 0 and 1 missing

Code: Select all

[~] # md_checker

Welcome to MD superblock checker (v1.4) - have a nice day~

do you have any ideas what I can try. I really don't want to get rid of it, it's a nice unit.

Two missing devices in a RAID5 should be game over.

Wonder if one of the missing drives was a hotspare (otherwise this RAID5 would not be 'online')

No need to get rid of your NAS, only thing is to rebuild the RAID and restore from backups

that is the thing, it is not the entire thig make no sense.
I got the raid to return, by shutting down and bringing it back up. the GUI of Qnap shows everything fine with the drives

There is probably a hiccup in the system, maybe a bug in a certain firmware, or a power outage or some other reason
