@hopeandnotexpect, @Roxbox you can very well buy ADATA branded memory. Looks like it is their cheap line of products, XPG being positioned as a more premium line, just like their SSD's where you can get cheap ADATA and more expensive/performance XPG. https://www.pcgarage.ro/memorii/a-data/ this is an example from Romania but I guess it is valid globally.

Kingston FURY Impact DDR4 2666 MHz SO-DIMM CL15 16 GB KF426S15IBK2/16 seems to work fine on TS-664.

Just FYI- after installing above Crucial ram 8Gb upgrade, I also have successfully installed QNAP QMP-2P-384 m.2/PCIe card on TS-453d, with WD Red 2TB x 2 SSD NVMe SN700 and no issues. Another post earlier had suggested problems with an expansion card after ram upgrade -everything ok for me so far. Of note is that everything I have installed is compatible according to QNAP.

Hello:
Super helpful post, thank you very much. I own a TS-251D 2GB and have upgraded it with 32 GB using Crucial CT2K16G4SFD824A (32 GB in a pack of two 16 GB modules). Memory was recognized, as shown in the picture.

Hello, this RAM is available for sale:
ADATA 8GB DDR4 2666 SO-DIMM Premier AD4S26668G19-SGN, CL19, 1.2V DDR4 2666(19) 8GX8 SO-DIMM
ADATA 16GB DDR4 2666 SO-DIMM Premier AD4S266616G19-SGN, CL19, 1.2V DDR4 2666(19) 16GX8 SO-DIMM
What is the probability of compatibility with QNAP 653D?
Thank you very much.
Perhaps you should have a look at the actual modules that are on sale. Many of the modules listed in the topic I have not found on sale.

The system has started. The memory is all determined, I will load it on the weekend and check the stability.
Many thanks for the work done on the selection of SODIMM.

Re: TS-x53d RAM Upgrade Informative Guide (TS-653D, TS-453D, TS-253D, TS-251D, TS-451D2)
Thanks for the guide
Followed it but I have an issue.
So I have a 653D with vanilla ram, all drive bays used.
Shut it down, unplugged from the mains, removed drives taking care of their order. Removed stock ram.
Put new ram, plugged drives back, switched on. Let the nas boot, waiting for the beeps. After 20 or 30 minutes still no beep, so ended up having a look at the leds.
Only 2 drive leds (1 and 2) were green. All other were off.
Unable to find the nas using QFinder.
Switched off, retried, same issue. Tried multiple times. Still no nas on QFinder.
Ended up double checking if the ram was the issue : removed drives, made sure ram was properly inserted. Switched back on.
No more drive leds (!). Still nothing in QFinder.
Went back to stock ram. Still no drive leds, everything but first (green) and second (flashing orange) leds are off.
Freaking out a little bit. Even stock ram is in the same state.
Any help ?
Posting my issue in the troubleshooting section as well...

I use my NAS most of the time as a Plex Server and I wonder if increasing the memory would improve the workload. Having said that and after reading the OP I was unable to find the model CT2K16G4SFD824A for Crucial and instead this popup
https://www.amazon.com/Tech-Replacement ... 07SX9QYS6/ seems to me same as the Crucial but can any tell me if this will be compatible?

I can also personally verify that Crucial Memory CT2K8G4SFS824A (2x8GB) is compatible with the Qnap TS-451D2 NAS

Re: TS-x53d RAM Upgrade Informative Guide (TS-653D, TS-453D, TS-253D, TS-251D, TS-451D2)
I read the whole thread and ordered 2x "Kingston 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL19 Notebook Ram KVR26S19S8/8 Y-43106" after reading it's working for others. So I will have 2x8 GB RAM in the next days. But I'm wondering how can that work? On the product page https://www.qnap.com/en/product/ts-453d I see the QNAP or the CPU can only supports up to 8 GB RAM. Do you have another TS-453D than me?

Some CPU memory controllers support more RAM than the official specs from Intel say
