Ts264 8g - which setup give better performance?

I am new to qnap. I bought ts264 8g already bundled with 2x 4tb hdd and now i want to invest in nvme m2 ssd to boost performance to make full use of the qnap power. Which setup seems to be best or please feel free to suggest different setup.

Use case is for home use eg plex media server, raw photo (replace google photo) and doc backup, torrent.

Which one is optimal / good enough setup for ts264?

Setup #1 - install qts os in ssd and use existing 2 pcie nvme slot
2 x 500gb nvme m2 ssd (system qts os and apps) raid 1
HDD raid 1
HDD raid 1


Setup #2 - install qts os in ssd and extend with qm2 accessory to allow extra nvme slot for more ssd use case.
QNAP QM2-2P-244A PCIe card with 2 x 500gb nvme m2 (system qts os and apps) raid 1.
HDD raid 1
HDD raid 1
Extra 1 or 2tb nvme m2 ssd for qtier or cache (useful for my use case?)


Setup #3 - install qts os in ssd and extend with qm2 accessory to allow extra nvme slot for ssd + 10gbe connectivity (would it matter or unnecessary?)
10GBe network + QNAP QM2-2P-10G1TB PCIe card with 2 x 500gb nvme m2 (system qts os and apps) raid 1

Extra 1 or 2tb nvme m2 ssd for qtier or cache (useful for my use case?)


Setup #4 - install qts os in hdd and boost with qtier and cache (i think this is original recommendation from qnap).
HDD raid 1 (system qts os and apps)
HDD raid 1
500gb nvme m2 ssd for ssd cache
2tb nvme m2 ssd for qtier

Any other better setup possible?

Setup1

Forget about cache or tier, use the SSD in RAID1 for the default app install location

Make sure you never expose your QNAP to WAN (That google photo replacement plan)

Thanks dolbyman! Much appreciate the expert advice. I have just ordered the 2 nvme m2 ssd to proceed with setup 1 without anything else. and now that you bring up the security aspect, i will spend time to research on that instead.
