[PROBLEM] TS-239 not recognising NZ daylight saving

Post by rh2600 »

Daylight saving started in NZ overnight, but when I fired up my QNAP this morning it's still the old time (1 hour behind). I can successfully sync to pool.ntp.org (and even nz.pool.ntp.org) but it's still showing the old date.

Whereabouts does the NAS get the daylight saving status from?

I'm having the same problem in Australia, having just switched to daylight savings time.

We have a QNAP TS-439 running firmware version 2.1.5 Build 0408T.

Is there a solution to this issue?

Same problem here. In the meantime I changed the time setting and told the NAS to use the time from my computer which did switch to DST correctly.

I got around the problem by setting the time zone to Hobart, as discussed in this post from a year ago.

We had this problem in the US last changeover. Since our DST was extended we had to wait for the old date to come around (about 1 month) before the dates would be correct. I think QNAP does not have the correct algorithms for all the countries new DST calcs. I suspect we will experience the same again soon.
