Last firmware update user pi cannot log in

Post by zehetal »

We have several QNAP systems in use and we make recurring updates on the systems. Since the last update we can observe a very strange error in monitoring in QULog Center and the Web GUI.
We see the message: Failed to log in. User: pi, Source IP: x.x.x.x, Connection type: SSH/SFTP, Check the permission and the connection.

Actually we have no idea what this user login means, neither where the user pi originating.

If you actually post the IP (assuming it is not your WAAN IP) then maybe we can offer suggestions.

Are you sure that you have not exposed your NAS to the internet by using port forwarding or UPnP in your router?
Posting your NAS model and firmware version wouldn't hurt either.
