I have two major issues with Media Streaming add-on 500.1.1.6 which was installed on my TS-431KX as a mandatory part of the update to QTS 5.2.0.2680
1. The folder structure containing all the media files appears flattened, as viewed on all my several (different) DLNA client devices. Previously, the folder structure has been correctly shown on all the clients. I did a re-index just in case, but this made no difference. For the avoidance of doubt, there is nothing wrong with the folder structure on the QNAP server; it's simply that the structure is getting flattened when viewed by the DLNA client.
2. Even worse… my many video files (mainly H264 and H265 in MKV wrappers) are unrecognised by the clients that, yesterday, was playing them perfectly without transcoding of any kind.
So right now, this all appears to be a bit of a disaster... I stress that this was all working very smoothly before the above updates. Thanks.
Oh, by the way, FLAC audio files don't play either. So, all in all, this beast doesn't feel as though it was released, more that it "escaped".

You have to report this to QNAP via ticket, posting it here will not do anything

I have advised them. But it would be interesting to know if I am alone, or whether many others have the same issue...

Re: Media Streaming add-on 500.1.1.6
With my TS-364/TS-264 the Media Streaming add-on 500.1.1.6 and the Multimedia Console 2.6.0 are running correctly.

Re: Media Streaming add-on 500.1.1.6
Progress. I resorted to the time-honored approach of uninstall, reboot and and reinstalling the media streaming add-on and multimedia console and things now work as they used to.
What does this tell us? Clearly, that in this particular instance (probably the change from QTS 5.1.* to 5.2.*), the update process should have done more to ensure a ‘clean’ job. I'll leave it to those more proficient than I at this kind of OS manipulation to further explain but, clearly, the update process needs to be rather more conservative in its approach.
