Just now I got a tip from the german forum to try the Player with realtek Architektur and it works. So its a bit hope on this dark play to me.
I installed the Cayin MediaSign (basic free version). only about half my thumbnails are generated. The rest i assume is h.265 encoded so doesn't show thumbmail. I guess i can pay the $12 for the upgraded version to see if I can get all the video thumbmails generated but why if there is another way.
I'm surprise Qnap hasn't tried to resolve this issue as it seems to have been reported a while ago (over a year or two) and it's still an issue today (and I just upgraded to 5.2 yesterday).
