qumagie: dull and washed out thumbnails ( CR3 )

Hi,

I'm at the moment migrating data from my old TS-210 to the new TS-216. It's for home use and occasional at best.

Yesterday I was playing around with the new software available and saw it worked quite well with Nikon RAW files ( don't know the extension). Even gimmik AI catalog was nice.

Then I tried to place my photos and activate a new folder for qumagie process them. They are CR3 from a Canon R8 and 99% of them are dull and washed out, some are normal but they were taken months ago and I don't remember if I have changed anything in the camera:


Left thumbnail generation, right the file downloaded without any change and seen in windows generic Photo app.

Is there anything I can do to fix how the thumbnails are generated for CR3?

This is becuase it can't generate a thumbnail from the newer (not really new now) raw file so it must use the generic internal saved thumbnail which does ahve the color profile or anything OR it is readying the raw CR3 and not doing a great job which i think this might be the case becuase of the nose and other color auditees' involved. Canon and their lack of sharing CR3 raw info has been more extreme compared to years past and although apps do now have the info (remember when Adobe was without that info for like 2 years) i'm guessing qumagic or the needed codecs are missing or not up to date. I wills say i see this at times in other apps or tools that create thumbnails of CR3 and the ones i have installed on windows are not as good. CR3 has been a pain for this reason. i just wish canon Complex Data Structures:RAW file format did better with internal thumbnails or qumagic had a choice to use the internal thumbnail and not try to create a preview of one.
