Anyone else noticed this in the changelog for AI Core?
"Support has been added for users to import and export tagged face data in apps that use QNAP AI Core."
And more importantly, has anyone found where this export feature is buried? I can't find the option anywhere.

I'm wondering if they mean the facility has been added via the AI Core update, but Qumagie will need to be updated to take advantage of it.

Same here. Saw the note come up in the change log, but can’t find the feature. Haven’t used face tags to date in case the database crashes and I lose hours of manual tagging.

Re: Qumagie facial tag back-up
I did try by myself to see what's working & did try to ask QNAP support.
For the first, I've seen - don't know since when - QuMagie is able to use the tags in my pictures when embedded (it used the Subject tag). It can as well write back tags into the picture as embedded meta-data (an backup file named *_original is created during that process (note that file modified time is not changed => difficult to track which files is effectively modified, for incremental backup). It supports Subject (obviously as it can read from it) but stores tags to other tag id like XP Keywords, Keywords.
For the second, nothing useful clarified, response vague and the more precise questions asked, the less the feedback was.

Re: Qumagie facial tag back-up
A backup of the facial data would need to be more than just embedded tags though, because Qmagie recognises which face in a photo links to which name. I'm assuming if a backup was implemented it would need to be some form of database backup.

FYI, metadata (including people) can now be backed up from within Qumagie as of v 2.4.0. Settings -> export/import.
