TS-473A M.2 ssd not installing

Post by BYM »

Hi y'all

I've tried several kinds of M.2 SSD's since i own this NAS but unfortunately i never succeeded in getting a ssd to work.
I am beginning to think the SSD slots are non functional?
Is there a trick or secret switch i don't know about?
I've added a screenshot with information about my NAS.

Are your M.2 SSDs on the QNAP compatibility list for your machine?

Just wondering.

Regards.

A common mistake is to mix up M.2 types (people installing SATA in NVMe or vice versa)

So if you tried M.2 SATA drives then this would not work

I feel stupid :ashamed: :x

No indeed i didn't know there was a difference between them.... :!:
I'm gonna order myself a couple of PCIe SSD's right away and try again.

I'll keep this thread in the loop of my activities 8)

Maybe this is helpful.

You can get an enclosure adaptor to convert your M.2 SATA SSD to a 2.5โ€ form factor and use it in any spare bays you may haveโ€ฆ

YMMV.
